Try the local Red Cross or Salvation Army or Goodwill - not the used clothing store but the corporation itself. One more thing try calling large churches in your area. My church collects medical equipment and gives them away. Hope this helps.
If you can appeal their decission please do. Being able to walk with assistance does not mean a wheelchair isn't medically necessicary. You might also want to try organizations like americans with disabilities, some times people donate them for various reasons. I wish you all the best and feel that there is a wheelchair in your near future.
well here in tennessee they have handicap stores and you have medicare and it dont pay its free or you close to tenneeesse by chance you might try the power chairs i know that you doc and medicare will be able to help let your doc say it medical nessary medicare has to pay it me and my doc was joking about saying its medical nesssary for me to goto somewhere for winter lol
Also try Am Vets. (American Veterans). They usually help those who were in the military but, they may help you.
Try your town Fire Department I bet they will help.
Try talking to Easter Seals. Maybe they can help or tell you someone who could.
