What's your outlet?

Hey everyone!

Well last night I was over at a friend's house and things got kind of heated between him and his teenage daughter. As a friend I gave him advice on how to calm down and find something he enjoys as an outlet to get rid of the stress and anger. I myself use music. It always helps me.

So my question to you all, what do you use as an outlet to relieve all the stress and anger that you endure throughout your life?

Yes...

I love working with my hands. Anything that creates something. Crochet, Sewing, Counted Cross-stitch, cooking/baking from scratch. My latest endeavor is creating jewelry. My NF sister does this and hopes to get to the point where she no longer has to clean houses for a living, but merely work on jewelry making. She has earned alot of money but has not broken even... yet.

Hubby told me I should start doing this - he told me he knows I'll be good at it. Well, all's I can say is... what a stress reliever! I love it!

I also enjoy filmmaking. Well, right now it's just editing stuff I created and put up on YouTube, but I will upload something I actually created with my digital video cam (it's in the works). Anyhow, I find it to be very fulfilling to the point when I'm editing stuff, I even forget to eat!

Both working with my hands and doing film stuff takes me into a different world. I always told my NF sister that she should start doing stuff with her hands and that it is a great stress reliever. I'm glad she's doing something - she told me it does help her relax and unwind at night.

going on rants

"going on rants"

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just about peed my pants on that one.

Yeah - it's hard for me to shut my pie hole... at times. :P

primal screams help sometimes.

introspection perhaps.

eat.

shop, but most of the time dream of shopping.

sing.

my friend. she listens to everything i have to say. and when she's not around....screaming works too :)

When I start getting totally stressed out, a brisk walk helps. Screaming also works

I smoke pot, and try not to get angry about much. Life is too short to worrie about this.

For me... Shooting. Putting holes in paper with very powerful hand guns is a great stress reliever and a he#* of a lot of fun for me.

focus on helping others is another great stress reliever.

I hold it in intill I blow my top.. or I play GTA4.. Beating the tar out of fake people works well.. :P

I like playing video games and talking to my friends!

I journal and it does help me. Once I write it all out and let it flow out on paper, I feel better.

Music and driving. I like to get in my car and turn the stearo up loud and just go whereever i wanna go..

I enjoy yoga! Any type of excercise!

I make homemade cards and scrapbook, Play with my dog and play board games with my hubby!

I'm with JPC on this one... GUNS. I dont own any handguns though. I like scoped rifles. Nuthin is better than the feeling of putting lead on a target at 15 yards. Sometimes when I'm REALLY stressed I put on FALLING DOWN or TAXI DRIVER and break down my sniper rifle and clean every part, oil it, re-assemble and repeat till I feel better. I dont have a place to go shoting anymore, so that's the best I've been able to get for a while.

Walking, Long hot bath, talking/writing to/ with friends, cooking is what works for me.

lol.. i just realized I typed 15 instead of 150... damn laptop keyboard.

When I had better balance, I'd go to the gymn every day after work for about an hour or so. Amazing what a bit of exercise can do for the disposition. Right now I try to take walks (can go alot faster with the cane instead of the walker), have a glass of red wine and try some writing exercises.
