When I went to art school out in Denver (late 70's), I remember a bunch of us going to the top of one of the mountains and screaming at the top of our lungs. There was a reason behind this but I forgot what it was or what the course that one of my friends was taking had screaming as one of the exercises. Well, anyways, I did it. I screamed and I screamed. What a release - to the point were I cried. I also had a severe case of the runs after I did that. Something to do with my body releasing it's toxins. This was the 70's, mind you. Decades before the New Age stuff came into play.
my wife grew up in Denver. Maybe she heard you. I'll ask her.
Mine goes AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I have a little head shaking to it. I tighten up my pecs and my thighs.
Now mind you stress is not always a "bad" thing. For example, if I finally color inside the lines, that's a great accomplishment and also deserves a primal scream.
Right now, I've got tears for fears in my head: shout, shout, let it all out... these are things we can do without... come on... i'm talking to you... come on...
Some of you military connoisseurs should know: WHOO-HA!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Have you heard of Angel Food? Found a local church that has that ministry and been helping hand out food boxes once a month. This is the second time. Today, I was in the back of the trailer unstacking the boxes. I hurt so good now :-) My angels helped me with balance and my grunts helped well up the strength I needed. Well that, and the fact that my wife will give me a massage :-)
I do have to admit that I saw a wasp and did scream rather unmanly. Another volunteer (a woman) came and killed it for me.
When finished, I had a rocky moment: Andrian! Aaaadddrrriiiiaaannn! I wuv ewe!
