hey i hear ya. i was just diagnosed this year... but now reading that nf also could make me get them on my spinal sucks. i just had brain surgery in may.. i think id rather have nf1. only cause nf2 affects the brain and spine. oh well i guess. but 4 tumors i can only match that with getting 90% of one and still have another in there.. youll make the other sugery if you made it threw that one!
Good luck and God be with you. I ' m about to have surgery too on my c1 c2 spinal area . Is your tumors compressing your spinal cord? Do you need spinal decompressing surgery? What kind of symptoms do you have?
Thanks
deeny
No they are not. NS said that he is surprised that the big tumor on my spine is not causing problems. My back does hurt but nothing else.
As I said I had 4 removed from my head and still have 3 more in there.I also have a Schwanoma in my left ear.Have had hearing and Balance test done.Go back to see him on Sept.15th with his recomendations on what to do there.
Good luck- thoughts afre with you,
Hey, im 19 and was just recently diagnosed with NF2, ive had two surgeries on my spine to remove a shwannoma from C6-T1, (although, my tumor stopped me from moving, at all really, for about a year.) and a second to fix a spinal fluid leak that occoured from the first.. i want to wish you the best of luck in your surgery, and i hope everything works out for the best in your treatment,
Thanks all for your kind words.Surgery on my spine was 5 days ago. I have to say the pain level after this is so different then the on on my head.I had back surgery 5 years ago(unrelated to NF2) and i alsmost forgot the pain.He got all of one tumor one and most of the 2nd one.It was mt T1-T2 area.
Glad that you are recovering from your surgery. How long was your surgery? Not looking forward to the pain.
My surgery was about 4 hours..Stay up on your pain meds and it makes it alot easier to deal.
