NF dolls

I know of none out there, and am not willing to pay to have one personally made. I have a friend I would like to make one for (with CAL spots). Any ides how to go about doing this? I am blind in right eye- so dont want anything too difficult. (Can be a bear or other furry)

Also want acessories; ONE leg brace (most places online sell 2) and a white cane (most places have dog and cane)

THAT IS A VERY KOOL IDEA I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT

There are a few ways you could go about doing that. There are doll patterns for sewing if you wanted to go that route. You can get those at any craft store and walmart. If you were going to go the porcelain route there are quite a few sites where you can get dollparts that have yet to be painted and supplies to put one together yourself. The site at the bottom has a ton of random stuff. The best of luck to you, that sounds like an awesome idea. :)

You can have dolls made for you to fit your disability.
They are like the American Girl dolls. Many years ago a friend of mine had one made for her daughter.
I'm sorry, but I can't remember the name of the company.
They also make dolls according to race/gender etc... :-)

Thanks to all; Tresham; I was actually looking for a way low cost; perhaps making one! (I dont have much of an income; all sites I found are expensive). I really don't want too much money into it, as it is just a little something to do; joke between 2 of us.

Will check out doll parts

:-) I wondered after I had posted if you wanted to do t yourself. Those dolls to order are quite pricey!
Have fun making one... and when you do... perhaps post a pic!

I have a Amputeddy its a teddy bear who's leg comes off. I use this to teach the kids I work with about my own amputation. It can come in anything you want. I have a left leg amoutation and the left leg comes off. If its the right leg, arm or whatever you want, You may goggel Amputeddy.com and find the link.

I came accross Shadow Buddies; the cloth dolls used in hospitals; "Dools like me". While there is no NF doll, I can get a plain one- sew cals on them. My friend & I want a doll with CAL marks- name it Cal! (The minds of two women; 1 28, the other in 40s!)

Thanks all

I gave one of my daughters cabbage patch kid doll Cals all I did was color them on with a light brown marker to match her spots.

I did a lot of research looking for a doll for her but came up empty handed.

Once again- thanks all; I got a Shadow Buddy (cloth dolls used in hospitals). Some have specific disorders; I just got a generic day surgery (has hair, eyes already). Now I just need to do Cals and find clothes for a 12 inch doll. (only comes in hospital gown). Yet, now Im wondering if she would even want it; found out she was never big on dolls....
