NF and kidney stones

0 Recommendations

I am wondering if kidney stones are a part of the NF baggage - have any of you had kidney stones ever? - if so what type NF do you have.

My brother and I have had them all our lives - the only ones in our family and we also have hearing problems.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Santel,
I have NF1 and I've had numerous kidney stones. I never related it to the NF before. That is a good question. I'll be anxious to what others have to say on this subject. One kidney stone wouldn't come out and it had to be removed. Since then I decided the next one I have they will remove it immediately! Having a kidney stone is the worse pain I've ever had.

My brother has a moving stone at the moment - he has 4 children - tells his wife she had 4 labours, he's had dozens - I have to agree.

Drs are kinda baffled with me.....my left kidney seems to be worse than the right...Ive done Stents, and lithotripsys...and still have pain.

Hi;

After 10 years, I've never hard of a correlation of kidney stones and NF-2.
I believe some are more prone to stones than others for various reasons.
In the general population, kidney stones are not so uncommon.
Painful things, I hear! I'm sorry...

Russ

I have NF1 and I had a kidney stone about a year and a half ago. I don't think it had anything to do with it.
The doctor said the kidney stone developed from too much calcium.

I have NF-1 and had Kiddney stone last year never thought to ask about NF
