o.k., I've just been doing my homework on the internet... my suspicions are somewhat true... Robert Redford does have some form of NF... Ok, how do we go about reaching out to him??? He is so famous and so good looking, especially when he was younger.. although he is old enough to be my father, I was crazy about him in the day! Like when he was in "The Way We Were"... Oh man, I wish I knew about this website sooner and explored NF more in depth before today...I bet he would make a wonder spokesman.. he is so well respected! I knowhe could reach out to people and help NF awareness!!! Any ideas??

Huh here is my question : How can u make sure Robert Redford has NF? I 'v never noticed anythin wrong with him. Ur not the only one suspectin that, but I might be blind ^^

Hi Tom, Well, I googled him... apparently he has it and he has a brother with a more sever case of it. just google Robert Redford and neurofibromatosis... if you look closely at his face you can see the lumps.. I have them too, but not quite as severe as him..

I never heard before that Robert Redford's brother had it, until I just read it here.

I'm googling it but can't find anything tying his brother with NF.

I can't find it now! I should have saved it before I closed my browser.. but the more I google it , there was something that said maybe Ted kennedy had it too! maybe I look too closely at people's skin now but i notice it more and more although milder in some more than others... if that makes any sense. I'm gonna try and google again in a while.. and if I find it i will cut and paste!

I've never read of them having NF before. But, Gillian Anderson of the X-files brother has NF. She is a spokesperson for us and so is her mother, Rosemary.

I googled it and all I get is postings from support groups including this one. Nothing substantial.

it so nice to have so many friends hsa far has for Robert Redford he is like some of Some of us don'tbut reather we have mild cases are more severeve cases we all have the same thing Nf .But the best thing to do is make the best of it.

Well you did youe home work and that is good,maybe we can all go home a talk show and let nf out the colset, we need to go forth and prove to people ,that we are just has good has anybodey. We are not freacks we are people just like every elase.

There is no conclusive proof that Robert Redford has NF. Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't. Not every mole or bump is a neurofibroma. As for the late Senator Kennedy, I'm sure he did not have NF. The fact that the man died from a glioma, doesn't mean a thing. As far as lethal brain tumors go, glioma is not that uncommon. That people with NF can have gliomas does not mean that Mr. Kennedy had NF. As a general rule gliomas of the type that Mr. Kennedy had behave far differently and far more aggressively than the ones seen in NF.

Thank you for making that clear about Mr. Kennedy and as far as Robert Redford goes...I'm till a little skeptical I would like to see proof.

Well, thank you everyone, for your replies. Of course there is no evidence that Mr. Kennedy or Robert Redford has nf, however, it was just a theory I had in noticing the way they look. It's something I do when comparing myself to others. Not many people I have run into have the condition we have nor have I met anyone in person. I hope that I didn't get anyone unnerved or upset with my suspicions. Again only a theory or an educated(uneducated) guess on my part!
