im getting neck surgery on monday for this tumor on my neck can u please have me in your prayers has any one had a tumor in the neck and had it removed?

dear payanannet, I am just curious since I hurt severly in my neck and have had a ACD & F spinal fusion and they also say that I have C7,C8 radiculitis with multi-sensory radiculopathy whatever that means. I just know I am suffering and they just want to give me meds and I want relief maybe by surgery. I am willing to do it. I am so tired of taking meds when there possibly could be something else going on and they don't want to do any more testing. They haven't made sure there is no tumor or anything for that matter. They did find a venous angioma during a CT Scan of head. They say that it is nothing,but I hurt severly on my left side where they say it is. The last Neurologist that I saw only saw me twice and said that there is no further thing that he can do for me. I don't understand. Don't docs continue to test you to make sure that what exactly is your prognoses is. I wondered what test you had done that found the tumor. I haven't had a diskogram and read @ it and that it will tell exactly where your pain is coming from. Why won't they order anything else. Is is because I have Medicaid. I have a chance of being put on my husbands ins. now since they just gave him 5 days a wk. ,but I am scared that I won't have any Ins. if I do so. DO you know what I should do? I found a link to a place that works on people w/spinal injuries and have In-patient and outpatient, but it is located in New Jersy. I am willing to go just to get better. I will post the link and check it out for me to see if you think it is a good Idea or not. Mostly, I want to know what test was done for the docs to find your tumor. hello thank u for your prayers so no at first i didnt get any test done on my neck i coulnt because i was pregnant i actually woke up one morning and there was a big bump on my left side of my neck i talked to the doctors about it they said it was a tumor that grew due to the NF the hormones from the pregnancy feed the NF and i grew it afther i had my son 4 years ago i didnt do any test because i dint have insurance i got pregnant again and the tumor got bigger anyway finally got insureance finally started testing they did an mri mra and a ct in that process they found another tumor in my spine i just got surgery in august so yeah it took 1 year for the doctors to finally want to do surgery they say is very dangerous and the risks of many things are very high the only reason they are going to operate is because its so painfull and its moving and getting bigger i would ask if there was any treatment that would make it smaller because its the size of a grapefruit he would say no so thats my story not much info cuz doctors didnt even want to treat it but i will check out that website and give u my opinion im sure ill fing something that would help me too

I have 1 on back of my neck right near upper spine.Its gotten size of a ping pong ball.I do have trouble with it sometimes but afrad to get it checked since all others I had check doctor says and I quote"Its just a NF tumor we can send you to a psysylogist"
See here they could care less on these tumors at least the neuroligest,should I go to a different type doctor?What kinds

i think i might have a few up and down my neck,they are undionessed as to what they are.asked my neurosurgen (the top one in my area,also a prof W/SUNY-UB)and he didn't know

Yes, I did. Mine was large and on the left side of my neck. I went to a plastic surgeon and had it removed. Insurance pays for it. I would recommend it highly. You will feel so much better. If I had it to do over again, I would do it in a minute!!

I had my parotid gland removed when I was a baby, due to an NF tumor. I also have a tumor located C4-C6 that has been partially removed. But the parotid gland is in the neck, so yes - i have had neck surgery to remove an NF tumor.
