Did your new growths during pregnancy go away?

0 Recommendations

I am due next month with my second child. With these two pregnancies I have had so far, a new growth has appeared on my face and other places. So far I've gotten them removed (the ones on my face) so I don't know if they would go away on their own after pregnancy. Has anyone experienced growths going away after they were pregnant?

The ones that grew on my face didn't seem like NF. They were purplish and would bleed really easily.

I don't believe they do. Just like growths that grow during puberty/menopause and other hormonal causes, the new growths are there to stay.
Not sure what the purple ones are.... have you spoken to your doctor about them?

Just a male thought. When pregnant (in the latter stage) your skin is stretch across your belly. You may notice more small lumps?.......before and after pregnancy the skin is loser so they maybe still there under the "layers" therefore less visible. Is that a possibly why female say they see more during pregnancy?

Just a thought.

Tony

Tony you are right......

With my last daughter 15 years ago I got covered with tiny tumors accross my belly area.Doc thought it was some pregnancy related skin thing going on,so did I.I didn't know much on NF then. But they were tumors. Its ben 15 years and they are still there thousands of tumors. But they are just on my skin.Since I don't plan on ever looking for a different Man I don't let it bug me.My hubby claims he is ok with my tumors.

I have had two pregnancies. Mine have not gone away. They may srink a little due to the blood volume lessing after birth. The purple could be due to increase in blood volume too.
Good luck.

I am sorry to say they did not, I had four children, and they only increased with each pregnacy. Stress for me causes more to appear also. I had to have all my teeth pulled so you can imagine how my face now looks. exercise causes good healthy stress on the body, but for those of us who have nf, it only causes the nf to multiply. (for me anyway) I wish I could give you hope in this area, but from my own personal experiece , I can not.

was having your teeth pulled a result of your NF? I have bad teeth problems, my dentist told me that I will get cavities no matter how much I brush. Is that just my own personal teeth, or because of NF?

i notice more growths when i was pregnant with my daughter 15yrs ago now she is 16 and is not affected by nf (thank god ) is it because her dad had stronger genes (spelling) she looks alot like hime but has a few of my charactrics(spelling) now iam 12wks 5 days pg not only that iam also high risk cause of my age i dont remenber at which point do the tumors start to appear? anyone notice when do they start showing up or so the existing ones grow? i didnt have genetics testing then i was alot younger mid 20s i didnt even theres was such a thing maybe at that time it wasnt avalible early 90s now i will due to my age i could cope with nf i dont think i could with the other defects being high risk for genetic diseases.

Hi, sad to say they won't go away, I had very tiny ones, the size of a pin head on my stomach and with pregnancy they grew and I got more too, this was 10 years ago.
I hate the ones on my nipples (they appeared with the pregnancy) and I will have them removed soon, I know it will be painful though.
I'm in my early 40's and have been noticing new ones, especially in my arms, I guess it's due to hormonal changes.
As a divorced woman who recently started dating, I wonder when the time comes to have sex again, what birth control method to use, my ex and I always used condoms, but hey are not 100% secure.
The best option would be to find a partner who had a vasectomy...

again sorry to say they wont go away,,, my started during my 3rd child(also the only one who has nf)

I had a unplanned pregnacy when I was 19 i didnt know much at all about NF I have NF1, and I carried it on to my child. I had very few bumps maybe 15ish until I got Pregnate and gave birth now I have several more and since then I keep getting more...it varies person to person..
