0 Recommendations

my husband had a mri 6 months ago for headaches and his doctor told him they saw a spot on the mri but they weren't concerned and he just has natural migrains. well, now suddenly he is losing function in his left arm and it is very very painful. he had a mri again and we got a call saying they saw something (in the same spot that the old doctor did) and were concerned. he went in for another full head mri, and we are waiting for the results. in the mean time his right arm is now starting to feel strange.......has anyone else gone through this??? can it be a tumor?? we are scared. our 3 year old with nf1 has a tumor behind the optic nerve, and our 7 year old daughter has some issues too, im overwhelmed.

Yes...the same thing happened to me several years ago. I started to loose sensations in the right side of my body. I became numb and weak. I actually started to learn over and it was hard to carry things.

I kept going back to the doctors and they were dismissive until a Nurse Practioner did a test and said it may be neurological.

I found out there was a tumor on my upper spine. I had to have it removed and there is a bunch of hardware up there now.

I know there are less invasive surgeries out there than even when I went. I would recommend another scan and demand some tests. The sensations you are describing sound frighteningly like mine.

I agree. You should demand an mri of the c-spine and neck. Don't let them be dismissive. Keep pushing for a many tests as possible.

God Bless.

MORE HAS HAPPENED, HE HAS A CT OF HIS SHOULDER AND NECK WITH NO RESULTS, BUT THEY SAW SOMETHING THAT DIDNT LOOK RIGHT AND SENT HIM FOR 2 MRI'S IN 2 DAYS THEN TOLD US IT LOOKS LIKE HE HAD STROKE BUT THEY CANT TELL WHEN........WELL LAST NIGHT HE WENT NUMB, PAST OUT, I RUSHED HIM TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND THEY CALLED A CODE GREY, HE HAD ANOTHER STROKE, THE STRANGE THING IS IT IS EFFECTING BOTH SIDES OF HIS BODY, HIS LEFT ARM IS WEAK AND LEG, BUT WHEN HE SMILES THE RIGHT SIDE DOESNT GO UP, ALSO HE COULD WALK THIS MORNING AND NOW HE CANT.........I AM SO CONFUSED AND HE IS ONLY 29.
