Advice needed for children with NF

0 Recommendations

Hello, I am new here, I am the Aunt of 3 young children with NF,ages 4,5,11, and a friend to an 12 year old with NF. All neices and nephew were just found with newly developd tumors on the brain and on the nerves of the spine.
The 12 year old child, is now in the later stages of cancer due to a tumor found in its latent stage, and avery poor prognosis has been given.
Are there any groups to assist with transportation to the San Francisco Childrens Hospital, or is there a facility in Sacramento that is able to successfully monitor and treat these children? My neices and nephew live 5 hours away from SF.
Thank you for your help!

Yes there is, and the doctors who diagnosed the cancer SHOULD have put you intouch with a Cancer social worker, there is a lot of help start with your local hosiptal social workers, and then if that doesnt work call the childrens brain tumor foundation they can tell you where and what to do to get assistance! Medicaid should be able to provide transportation too! Best of luck with getting help its not always an easy task, but if you stay strong and keep pushing you will get the assistance you need!

Thank you for your reply, I will look in to the Cancer Support centers at the hospitals.
