I have MCD, and just went for a 2nd opinion on my ulcerative colitis. Remicade is a drug option for colitis and that Doc thought it might be good to see if Remicade would put my MCD into remission and would work w/my Nephrologist. Kill two birds w/one stone.........
Will have to see how my next labs go, see Neph on 9/8.
Remicade would be a big commitment for me I have a lot of decisions to weigh.
Anyone else out there ever try Remicade???
My job is to prior authorize biologics, which Remicade is, for patients with psoriais, or psoriatic arthritis. I have heard that the efficacy for skin patients is a amazing, and it was indicted for GI use before skin. It is a long infusion, sometimes up to 4 hours, but I hear that it a wonderful medication, it has worked well for the patients that the doctors I work for have on it. If you need anymore info, I can get it for you!!
Thanks KB. I hope to hold off on the remicade for now. Once I go on it I can't get off of it or my body will build up anitobodies for it and I cant go back on it. Also, I can't be on it if I were to take cellcept or cyclosporine.
