life after transplant and chances of fsgs striking the new kidney

0 Recommendations

hi friends,
my wife, Archana, 33 yrs., is suffering from FSGS and AIHA.
her S. CR. is 5.1 and doctors have advised transplant.
can you all tell me what would be the chance s of success in transplant ?
also tell me if the new kidney can also be affected by FSGS? any precautions if any?

What are the latest research saying on this? any way out to save Archana from all this?

thanks n regards,

I am not sure if the disease will reoccur after the transplant or not, what I do know is that I suffer from Nephrotic Syndrome which also attacks the kidney filters and after 20 years post transplant the disease did return and is attacking the transplanted kidney. I am working with my doctors on slowing the process but have also found some natural kidney medicine that has had some positive affects but is has still not been a cure.

The down side to these is that insurance does not cover them, so the cost is all out of pocket. I have attached 2 links for you to review one gives some pretty detailed information on FSGS the other is a place were I get some natural kidney medicine. I hope some of this helps and everything works out well for your wife.

If you are here in the US I know that Medicare part B helps with some of the transplant cost on the surgery side. If you do not have insurance through your employer it may be worth looking at medicade or even Medicare for meds. The other path you can look at is a lot of pharmaceutical companies are offering lower cost medication to people without insurance; it may be worth talking with them as well.
