before my labs where my proteins were @ 1 about two weeks prior I stopped taking my prilosec. I have since stopped taking furosemide (I don't really need it anymore and it never really helped me anyway).
I think the prilosec may have contributed to my kidney's not healing, it can cause inflammation in the tubules. http://ndt.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/content/full/15/9/1450
I did not even think to not take any nephro toxic drugs. My personal theory is that I have hypersensitive kidney's and I am going to stay away from any 'nephro toxic' drugs as much as possible (unless life or death!). I even stopped taking fosomax, I am down to 5mg of pred and am tapering even further down to 2.5mg (I still take calcium and vit D).
Anyhow, who knows if this means anything or not. I tend to think that is why I had a huge jump from 7.5 to 1 b/c I stopped taking 'nephro toxic' drugs.
Just a theory and that seems to be all this darn disease has to go on most of the time, all trial and error.
