I am starting to keep track

0 Recommendations

I called my doctor today to see what my protein levels were. The reason I was so curious was because she had told me last Thursday that she thought I was not that swollen and not losing a lot of protein. The nurse called today and told me my protein was 9091. Help me out, what is considered normal, and really really high. How high is that? From now on I am keeping my own log and will be wanting to look at all of my test results. I am doing what I can to learn more about what everything means and I will keep track from now on. I am tired of doctors that don't listen. If I know what I am feeling, and can look at my own results. Maybe that will help. I am just trying to learn as much as I can now. Thanks for the feedback! (switching doctors) :)

I keep a notebook and have a log, I keep track of my protieins, albumin and sugars each visit. I was able to see that the Enalapril was not helping me but the Tekturna was.

My Neph gave me a copy of my results, I am now going to ask for those each time in addition to writing it down.

You can get a copy of your medical records and put that info into your log.

btw, I think you are spilling 9 grams of protein, I think that is what that means. I am spilling 7.5 grams.

oh, thanks. I don't know. I used to just trust the doctors. Not any more. I will be keeping track of things.

3 or lower is norm...we all are way above that.
If you can get to 1 that is the ultimate!!
Alas, that is not for me. I don't seem to ever get below 7.
But do keep all copies of anything you can get your hands on!!

Thanks for sharing girls. Hubby spilled 1-2, so we are okay with that (for now).

I get copies of my labs everytime I see the doc. My mom did the same when I was young and I've kept it up. I've also started inputing the results into an excel spreadsheet so I could graph it and get visuals. When I did that, I actually found a lab that said my protein was negative! I couldn't believe it. Too bad I couldn't stay there... I've been between 0.8 and 1.8 ever since. Still not bad!
