my signifigant other is in need of a transplant he is stage 4 fsgs and his knidneys cannot keep up with his body. they are talking about inserting a tube in his kidnet that will be hooked up daily to flush out his system have any of you had this done how did it go and how long have you had it? i would lie anyand all information available on this subject.
I wonder if you misunderstood. The tube would go either into his abdomen for peritoneal dialysis or would be a tube into his chest/neck blood vessel for hemodialysis. Either method filters off fluid and toxins from the body. Learn as much as you can to take the scare away from it. A person can live without a kidney as long as they do dialysis routinely. My daughter had her kidneys removed and then a transplant this year but her creatinine is 3.1 with FSGS reoccurrence. The doctors want us to choose a type of dialysis so we all ready when the kidney function is too little. I pray your husband's transplant will go better.. my daughter's FSGS couldn't be controlled. She actually looked the best after the kidneys were removed and before the transplant but she has had complications with too much plasmapharesis.
yes thank you its in his abdomen, so i am assuming its for peritoneal dialysis i will read upon it. he is still waiting for a kidney i do hope that things go as well as possible with your daughter! I will keep her inmy prayers!
