Dont know the cause

HI
I see everyone here is diagnoised with their kidndeys. I wish I knew why my kidneys are failing? Does anyone else on here have this same problem? I went into kidney failure about 4 years ago and I bounced out of it but was left with 42% kidney function. They did a byopsy and all it showed was that the kidneys cells were dying. As of this past March my kidney function was at 32% and now it is between 18% and 22% function. My kidneys are shrinking. Don't know how long it will be before I start dialysis. Please let me know it anyone out there has this problem.

About 5% of people with kidney failure will have no known cause for it, which is definitely a frustrating situation. However, there are general measures to preserve your kidney function no matter what the cause of your kidney failure might be. Controlling blood pressure and protein spilling in the urine are two essential steps. Since nephrotic syndrome and FSGS are diseases of excessive protein spilling, this group is extremely familiar with the options for this step and how important it is. The exact details of which treatments to choose should be discussed with your doctor, but many people here are dealing with these concerns right now.

Take this for what it is worth but I did read an article just the other day in some health magazine about CoQ-10 helping improve kidney function in those with failing kidneys as well as those already on dialysis. It
maybe worth a try since this is something you can pickup at any vitamin shop.

For most of us here it is different from month to month. This month our lab values may be good, but next month not so much. Most of the time we just wing it since none of our doctors are sure what is causing our kidneys to fail and since everybody is different. All are on different treatments and have tried everything under the sun. I try to keep a positive outlook. I know that there are going to be days when I can't get out of bed and days like today when I feel better than I have in months. Polaris, I am going to ask my doctor about the CoQ-10 and see what he says. I have also added B-Complex vitamins and fish oil capsules during the day and Melatonin to help me sleep at night. These do help some, but I still have bad days. Best of luck to you all.

yes talk to your doctor about that he may or may not
of heard this . This may be a new study and CoQ-10
was not marketed for kidneys. I have dealt with kidney
problems for many years although my kidneys are not failing it is still fustrating not knowing why I have problems from time to time. Just stay positive and take it one day at a time.

What is CoQ10?

Well its short for coenzyme it plays important role in cell function.Best thing to do is put it a search engine
like google and you will have plenty to read about it.
its available at any drug store and its a non-prescription type thing.

Hello, i am sorry to hear how low your kidney function is. I know that there is the CoQ10 that you can use but if you are after a more natural approach, what i am using is called Ningxia Wolfberry. I have had brilliant results within 2weeks of using them. They are one of the world's most powerful anitoxidant fruits & they help to regenerate your cells. The Wolfberry has been included in a number of Chinese herbal pharmacopoeias and is still prescribed for patients with deficiency of the liver, kidney, diabetes and vision problems.
I don't want to push the point so let me know if you would like to know more about them.
All the best!

where can I get those wonder berries
