does anyone notice a pattern?

0 Recommendations

It has been a LONG time for me, 30 years roughly, but I was wondering if anyone notices a pattern to the swelling? First in the legs and ankles, then the hands and then......it seems it all goes to the belly and back before it leaves the body (as meds kick in) Has anyone had this same kinda pattern?

As a child, I use to get "lower" swelling really bad and my mom said it always kicked in right before the body started to flush itself.

I have had ns for 20 years but, have just started swelling in belly also. I got a really bad sore throat & cold. About the second week of the cold I really started swelling and hard to breath. Go to the neph next week.

Yeah, I know colds and infections can bring on an attack. Ascites in the gut is the worst because it seems to just affect EVERYTHING from breathing to digestive issues. I found if I lay flat and kind of tap and rub the belly it subsides the gasey, indigestive issues it brings on

Hi, the swelling is caused by fluid which builds up in areas according to gravity. So if you're standing, its the feet, ankles and legs that swell first. If you lay down or sit with your feet up, the tummy swells. I eventually learned to sleep with a couple of pillows to stop my eyes puffing up over night. Hope this helps.
