Hi, does anyone have any information on the drug Deflazacort? I am still very new to this FSGS thing and trying to learn as much as possible. I just finished reading the book "Coping with Prednisone" and there was a mention of Deflazacort being a possible substitute for Prednisone but with less side affects. "Yeah"
At the time of publication (1997) Deflazacort was being used successfully in Canada but not approved by the FDA. From what information I could find that is still the case, here some 11 years later.
Maybe if the FDA was all taking Prednisone they would be more anxious to approve an alternative.
