Bruising

I know there was a thread on this before but I just wanted to get all of your ideas on this...yesterday I saw this HUGE bruise on the bck of my leg - behind my knee. I mean like about 5 inches around. I didn't hurt it so other than that all I can think of is that I was sitting with my legs folded to long? It has me stumped.
Couldnt be a clot or anything right?
Lost on this one...

I have a bruise right underneath my knee and I have no idea how it got there it is about 2 inches in diameter.

I don't know about clots or anything, but if there is a bump underneath it could possibly be a hematoma (is that a fancy word for clot?). If so, I would most def call your Doc.

Freaky it is!! Lol...well mine went away so I am watching the area and the other one just to make sure.
good luck with yours!

Just kind of an FYI - blood clots and hematoma's are not the same thing. Hematoma's are formed by clotted blood but they are usually found on top of the muscle or in the brain and I believe are mostly caused by traumatic injury. Blood clots form in your veins (normally in the calves) usually if you sit too long (like on an airplane or after a surgery) without moving. If you were to have a blood clot, the spot of the clot would be warm to the touch and would hurt, bad. And the longer you go without treatment, the more it will hurt. Hematoma's hurt too, but in a different way. You will notice bruising with a hematoma because of the initial injury, but the bruising goes away a lot faster then the hematoma. You wouldn't notice bruising around a blood clot. Of course, this has just been my experience with blood clots and hematoma's. Neither of them are fun.

I'm right there with you guys on the bruising though. I bruise easily and most of the time I have no clue where the bruise comes from. I'll just notice it one day... Weird thing is, when I bump into something and think "man, that's gonna leave a mark" it never does. I don't get it.
