Back (flank) pain

1 Recommendation

was wondering if anyone else has back or flank pain. For the past 6-7 mo I have had pain on the left side of my back. It is like a muscle spasm sometimes. I read where this is comon with people that have kidney disease.

the type of kidney disease that is associated with flank pain is usually Polycystic kidney disease. My mom had it is usually hereditary. Funny thing about me was I got fsgs and not Polycystic kidney disease.
hope this helps you should talk to your dr about it though.

Hi my daughter Morgan is 5 and has FSGS she suffers with flank pain and I am often up 3 nights a week with her. We are in Australia but you may be able to get this cream where you are - Nature's Remedy Drug Gree Pain Relief Cream. Ingredients: Each 100g contains Arnica montana extract equivalent to 1.05g dry flower (main ingred). She says it works well when the pain is too bad we give her panadol as well but an Arnica cream might help your back and leg pains. Good luck I feel for you. Tracy

Tanya, I had a lot of trouble with back pain when I first left the hospital when my kidneys shut down. I swelled so big I thought maybe the pain came from the extra fluid. My neph did not think the back pain was related to the FSGS and it has really improved over the past two years. I could not stand up long enough to dress or cook or anything. I still have problems walking for a long period of time or standing but overall, it is much improved. I still do not know what actually caused the pain.
