2008 Step Forward Walk - CHICAGO

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this site, but I'm so glad I found it. For anyone in the chicago area, we are having a fundraising walk on September 14th. It's are second Annual Chicago walk and it is a lot of fun. We start at Moody's Pub on the north side of Chicago and then take a short walk to the Lake. Then, we walk back to Moody's for free burgers, onion rings and soft drinks. It's a great even, and I'm trying to spread the word. here is a link...

You can also go to the Nephcure site to find out more.

A little about myself, and why I am chairing the walk this year. My brother was diagnosed with FSGS when he was 10, he is now 28. Since his diagnosis, he has had 3 Kidney transplants and has been on dialysis twice. Luckily, Kevin is a survivor in every sense of the word and an inspiration to others, and I must mention that he is the funniest person I know. He is a great, husband, brother, son and friend, and all who meet him feel truly blessed to know him. Except for maybe a few nurses trying to stick him along the way :)

So please let me know if you have any questions about the walk.

thanks!!!

WOW!

In just a few days, we have raised $1550.00!!!!!!! I have a couple things I wanted to mention. I have attached two flyers that can be used to hang on walls or give to people who want to know more about the walk. I have forwarded them to a few key contacts at Children's Memorial Hospital and the University of Illinois at Chicago Transplant Center. I'm hoping they will give them to their patients. If you or someone you are sponsoring has a doctor's appointment anytime soon, bring a few flyers and give them to your doctor or hang them around the waiting room. thanks.

Like I said, we are off to a great start. Amy Worrell, and Dana Levy have started their own teams, and Kevin's Team is up and running! And we have so new people showing interest like EVAG from Nephspace!!!

If anyone needs help or has questions, email me or give me a call. Again, we could use some raffle items, I did not have any luck with Costco or wal-mart. Any ideas from anyone. Also, Matt, could you call that Starbucks that we used last year and see if they will donate coffee?

Thanks everyone!!! Keep up the great work!

Mike

Hi --

I have registered (I believe). I tried to set up a page, as instructed, in order to raise money. I haven't , though, been successful in setting it up. I think I need help! Is there a way I can contact you directly?

Thanks,
Anita

Florence. Please give me a call at 630-209-6623 for help. That goes for anyone needing help in setting up a fundraising page, or for information regarding the walk.
