I have just been diagnosed with premenopausal osteopenia bordering on osteoporosis. My T scores are -2.1 for the lumbar area and -2.3 in the hip. I am 34 and had a baby girl 8 months ago. I breastfed for 8 months and gave it up as soon as I got this result. I found giving up the breastfeeding sad and am shattered to have such a diagnosis at my age. I have felt ill for the past few days but am slowly pulling myself together and collecting information. This site has been wonderful for me to know I am not the only one out there and to get some tips ideas and info. Next week I see my doctor and hope to get referred to an endocrinologist to try and get to the bottom of things and work out what to do. We wanted to try for another child next year but sadly that will have to wait for now.
