The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) extends an invitation to members of the osteoporosis community to attend an advocacy training meeting in Anaheim, California on Friday, December 12, 2008. NOF’s Strong Voices for Strong Bones Advocacy Training Meeting provides an opportunity to learn more about how government policies can make a difference for people with osteoporosis and for those at risk for the disease.
At this all-day workshop, participants will learn how to raise awareness about bone health and advocate for policies that promote osteoporosis prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research at the state and federal levels. Speakers include Lynn Daucher, director of the California Department of Aging and David Souleles, MPH, deputy agency director of the Orange County Health Care Agency. Our local panel includes Jeanne Alongi, MPH, with the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors and Amy Buch, MA, with the Orange County Health Care Agency.
There is no charge to participate, but we ask each person to register online at www.nof.org/advocacy or by calling NOF at (800) 231-4222. Feel free to bring a friend, family member or colleague and also to let your healthcare providers know about this event.
