Exercise Osteoporosis

AnnK, please check sidebar for topic Discussion: Organizations for information. There are various support and exercise groups posted.

I was actually wondering if anyone had a program that they could attend in their own community that had included both exercise and education at every session. I have not seen something like that, and was curious if anyone has been through a such a program.

Sorry AnnaK, I misunderstood. Yes, there is an exercise program for osteoporosis and also a support group near my area. I attended the exercise group for approximately 2 yrs after my diagnosis. The support group meets monthly and usually there is a guest speaker on some aspect of osteoporosis. I paid out of pocket for the exercise program; but the support group is free.

Hi AnnaK:
Our support group does exactly what you are talking about. We are located in Northern Virginia. We are working on developing a network of facilities that would provide what you are asking about. we are also looking at a webinar version as well.

If you have further questions or if you want to join our support group please feel free to email me at bebonestrong@sequoiahealth.com.
