shari, some stores in So. Ca. are giving this product for free in October as a promotional offer The information that I have on the product is that it is not intended to treat ostepenia or osteoporosis. The product seems to be advertised as a preventive for people that don't have bone loss or have normal age related bone loss. There are so many products that suggest improved bone health .... and this product is not cheap. Personally, I don't feel it is necessary or any more helpful to purchase expensive products.

sdivas, thanks for your reply. I dont mind the price so much if Im taking the same things anyway. I'm dont think my osteopenia is too bad yet. The stuff in this product seems to be a better form of calcium etc...if that makes sense.. I just want something to keep my bones from getting worse..without meds..thanks

What is in this product?

the product contains...756mg,vegan,whole food, organic, plant form calcium...1600iu raw vit d...100mcg vit k...386 raw magnesium..live probiotics and enzymes..22 raw & organic fruits &vegis..( the main thing they promote is that its organic and vegan) I'm just curious if anyone has any personal info about this stuff...thanks

I visited a vitamin store over the weekend and received a brochure on those products. The Garden of Life Raw Grow Bone program was recommended to me. I did research it online and anyone post-menopausal is excluded in the money-back guaranty. I may try their regular bottle of calcium since it is natural. I wonder if anyone here has tried it?

>>I may try their regular bottle of calcium since it is
natural.<<

Natural??? Just what makes a calcium compound natural- or unnatural -- for that matter??? There are variuos compounds of calcium (the element) and calcium citrate and calcium carbonate are a couple that are related to bone loss needs.

And just what is "raw Vitamin D"?????

These people are trying to sell you something that is far more expensive than what you buy in a regular grocery or phamacy. Do not fall for their fancy talk and their false claims.

I second Mother Goose's reply re: "raw Calcium" and "raw Vitamin D." Let's take it a little further -- You need Vit D3, not Vit D2, and they don't mention that at all. What is "raw Vit. K?" You need Vit K2 Mena Q-7, but they act as if all vitamin K is the same and it grows like grass. I'd steer clear of these folks.

GOOD for you to try what sounds like front-line product. WE do have to take chance--now and then-- on new and it is going to be expensive==the problem with cheap is absorption. Is the natural calcium==liquid or powder? I am GUESSING is superior .

I HAVE NOT HEARD of this product=-= AND WANT TO HEAR MORE. LIKE THANKS FOR THE INGREDIENTS==I DO UNDERSTAND THE FORMULA THEY ARE USING. SAME AS MY OWN THEORY AND efforts..
CALCIUM, MAGNESIUM, VIT D, ACIDOPHILUS [replaces our own friendly bacteria] as the probiotic, deffinately enzymes-- and all being vegan.

Of course, taken along with the standard basic vit / mineral that include the other vitamins and trace minerals

YOU CERTAINLY GET MY GO-AHEAD; I will be looking into this myself before the day is over--and watching this discussion!
This is PREVENTION LEVEL..NOT WAIT TIL THE WORST HAPPENS. EXACTLY RIGHT!!

I actually take their multi-vitamin and think it's pretty good. It's one of the few out there (at my health food store at least) that also include 3 mg of Boron. I think they call it "raw" and "natural" because they have (I'm probably using the wrong term here) dried up/dehydrated asparagus, algae, beet juice -- there's a huge list of the vegetables that go into making the capsules. And they are capsules, not tablets. They're filled with a greenish powdery substance and they smell like... well... like you're eating a bunch of vegetables. I can't tell how effective they are (it's too early). And who knows what "raw" means. I get my vitamin D from a prescription right now, and I take my calcium & magnesium separately. So while I can't attest to the quality of their calcium supplements, their multivitamin seems like a pretty good product.

LILRAY

GOOD GIRL
I ANSWERED YOU BUT THINK I LOST IT --NOT POSTED?

I TOO TAKE SCRIPT VIT D. HAVE THE BORON IN MY BASIC AND THINKING TO INCREASE IT--

THANKS TO SHERI 'S OPENING THIS DISCUSSION AND THESE ADDITIONS I REALLY FEEL ONTO SOMETHING'. SHE DID NOT MENTION VIT K OR STRONTIUM OR DID SHE'?

I ORDER FROM VITAMIN SHOPPE AND WILL BE DOING THAT THIS VERY DAY BUT LATER.

I HAVE BUSY AFTERNOON, BUT WILL BE HERE PERUSING--ALL==MAY BE MIDNIGHT. NEVER KNOW, BUT I WONT MISS THIS .

In answer to huessysignoret 's question about this product...it is 1600iu raw vit d3, and 100mcg vit k2... I guess I'm looking for something that has (most) everything in one pill and has the right dosage... It's so confusing , all the different things you're supposed to take...can someone write down a list of everything and the max dosages? Thanks for all of your replies...

WHAT IS NATURAL, WAS IT MOTHER GOOSE WHO ASKS THIS.. AND WHAT IS UNNATURAL?

TO the body food is natural and synthetic supplements are unnatural.

THE bosy knows what to do with the natural, it stores it and when it needs some of that nutrient--it gos there and picks it up.
[[like calcium is stored in the bones and iron- in the liver?]]

WITH the synthetic, the unnatural, the body doesn't recognize unnatural and so it can not store or eliminate it, but it has to put it somewhere--ANY WHERE--maybe in a joint or a gland, yes, it becomes ash and therefore impurities.

ASH IS RESIDUE OF THE UNKNOWN - UNNATURAL THAT GETS INTO THE BODY--USUALLY VIA CAR EXHAUST OR BY ADDITIVES IN OUR PROCESSED FOODS.
[[and many other uglies in our environment and its chemicals]]

ALSO ASH IS WHAT IS LEFT FROM CELLS OF A DISEASE ; CANCER LEAVES DEAD CELLS -ash---THAT MAY BE EVEN MORE SICKNESS TO THE BODY THAN THE LIVE CELLS WERE, [ I HAVE READ] .

ALL KINDS OF ASH MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE BODY.

[[this explains why the bowels are busy when you are on antibiotics, part of healing medication is laxitive for elimination]]

AND THAT IS WHERE VIT A, C, D,E, AND ETC., COME IN AS ANTIOXIDANTS -[THE CLEAN UP CREW.]

THE ANTIOXIDANTS SHOVEL UP THE ASK AND CARRY THEM VIA THE BLOOD TO-- THE SKIN, LIVER, KIDNEY , COLON [ THE ELIMINATION CREW]

ALL OF THIS IS IN MY OWN WORDS AND IS HOW I UNDERSTAND , SIMPLY , HOW THE BODY WORKS AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENCES IN DRUGS AND NATURAL FOODS,

AND THAT ''AINT'' ALL OF THE STORY, BUT IT IS THE SHORT CUT THAT I AM USING TO TRY AND ANSWER THE QUESTION AS I HAVE PIECED TOGETHER.

THE MAIN ANSWERS LIE IN WHAT AND WHICH NUTRITION FOR WHICH BODY WORKS.

WE DON'T HAVE TO KNOW WHAT WORKS, BUT WE DO NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO BEST MAKE AVAILABLE TO OUR BODY, IT KNOWS

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?

I read all the posts, very interesting as I will be attending with a physician who actually knows all these answers.

My thought is on the guarentee - it illimantes a certain group of people, why? That should be a clue in itself.

Just my 2 cents worth, I know we all want the "cure" for what we have. Education is the start of that cure, but don't be fooled by everything you read. There is a lot of information out there and osteoporosis is becoming big business - ching ching ching ...

Can you please use mixed case. All upper case is hard to read and appears that you are shouting.

Thanks for listening.

TYPING IS SOME PROBLEM FOR ME.
I HAVE THREE NUMB FINGERS ON MY LEFT HAND AND THE LITTLE ONE HITS CAPS INSTEAD OF A,. EVEN HITS Q.

TO GET MY THOUGHT OUT, I NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE DISTRACTION OF THE FONT OR CAPS==SO, I DO THE EASIER FOR ME. I HAVE MORE TYPO ERRORS IN THE OTHER.

THE PRINT IS SO SMALL THAT I CANT READ WHAT I AM WRITING. TO ME, THE CAPS ARE EASIER TO READ.

YOW, I HAVE A BROTHER AND SON WHO TELL ME THIS CONTINUALLY. AND I REALLY DID NOT NEED TO BE TOLD --IT IS THAT TO ME TOO.

I DO SEE MORE OF IT ON THIS SITE THAN IN PERSONAL LETTER AND I ASSUME THAT IT IS EASIER READING FOR OTHERS AND THAT IT IS GETTING ACCEPTED MORE AND MORE SINCE SO MANY OF US ARE SAME AS MYSELF ABOUT WRITING OR READING EITHER PRINT OR FONT..

I DON'T KNOW IF ONLY MY P C PRINT IS SO TINY- OR IF IT IS PART OF INSPIRE SETUP. I TRULY WOULD LIKE IT LARGER, DARKER TOO.

This makes me wonder now about the Guarantee.. My Mother (age 70) IS post-menopausal and she just bought this. I actually have Osteoporosis at age 44 and she does not. It was stated that the Guarantee does not apply to those with "Post-Menopausal" Osteoporosis. OK, so then What do They consider "Post-Menopausal"? I am not, but my bones are; as if I was way past "Post Menopausal". Maybe I do not fit into that category. hmmmm....

I also agree that it is strange about this Guarantee. New Chapter makes a similar product. I wonder if they have this same "guarantee" policy.

This is interesting. I came home to a message on my machine that I had won a sweepstakes from a health food store. What did I win? Garden of Life Bone Grow! Ha! I'll pick up my win next week.

sdivas

I would too.
It is more expensive than the 'cheap.' cheap WHICH CAN just pass on through the body un-absorbed undigested ,and what you paid for therefore?

the 'garden implies raw===as does the cap filled with dried plant--thus NATURAL and direct nutrient to the blood stream/body instead of ==as they say--expensive urine:?

D3 IS of PLANT and D2 is via sunshine. I see how they capsulize plant but how do they capture sunshine=-=-suits me which ever.
the only reservation I have with the GARDEN Product is that it might could be more potent? BUT a good company keeps a good balance and I for one am going to try this lead ... BECAUSE IT'S RAW N/ATURAL.
I wish I knew how to get it sent free ==sweepstakes. maybe they will have online coupons promotion!
