Welcome! I'm one of the moderators of this site. I'm sure we would all be interested in hearing about your experience with this disease. Would you mind sharing? I haven't spoken with any men that have osteopenia/osteoporois. I would like to hear your views.

Osteoporosis

Hi,

I've only known I have osteoporosis for 10 months though I'm sure I had it for quite a while prior. Probably some of the best advice I got regarding protection was just use common sense. Climbing a ladder or anything high, walking on an icy sidewalk, should be done with care but not just for those of us who have osteoporosis. Anyone can fall and break a bone. My doctor suggested that skiing and parachuting shoud not be new adventures for me. He also mentioned hip pads for occasions where anyone who has difficulty with balance could feel more secure. I think the level of caution is different for everyone, but we shoud continue to live our lives as fully as possible.
