Osteoporosis

I had never even heard of a Physiatrist! I am very intrigued by this! AND there are 3 right in my very city, which is interesting to me!! I would not have been surprised to find them in the megacity near me, but in my city? That's awesome... and I'm intrigued that they look at the "whole body" rather than just the area of concern.

what exactly does a physiatrist do? Are they md's who do PT?? are they known to handle pts w/ osteoporosis? thanks for the info

I've left messages with several physiatrists in my area to find out if osteoporosis is within their specialty. All I know is that physiatrists are in the field of rehabilitation.

Sorry, I am in error. Physiatrists do not work with osteoporosis patients according to the return phone messages.
