The article mentioned the findings in 20 people. But how many thousands take Fosamax? I will wait for the Merck study. I have been on Fosamax for 12 years with no fractures. I did the FRAX and I have a 6% chance of a major osteoporotic fracture in the next 10 years.

Thank you for this article. I am so glad my first drug was Evista......I will never take the others.......and Evista is not the greatest either........none of them are......I pray and have had no side effects. That is a praise report for me.

If you have any questions about taking drugs, I would suggest holding off until you are sure you want to do it. In the meantime, work on diet, exercise, getting a good night's sleep, staying hydrated, practicing good body mechanics etc.
Although the statistics show rare problems such as fractures from a standing position, they do happen and so one must weight the risk/benefit ratio when taking any medication for anything--including Fosamax.
