and to add to that, I have broken two bones in 6 months...I worry about what is going to break next...
There is a strong possibility that I have Ehlers Danlos.
My daughter was diagnosed with it and it is said to come from one of the parents. I do have some of the
symptoms. Now, at 73, I have severe osteoporosis.
There are so many things that can be attributed to
my osteoporosis.
Always tell your healthcare professionals about the
Ehlers Danlos. (although I always tell mine and they
ignore it). Eight months ago I went to a new
physical therapist. He had me lie down while he
pushed very hard against my hip for ten painful minutes. (I was limping while recovering from
a fall that led to a hip replacement the year before).
He said he pushed on my hip to break down connective tissue. Well, he broke it down all right.
He upset my balance and, two days later, I fell (I didn't
trip. I fell). I got a severe compression fracture of
the spine and have never been the same. An attorney
assured me that there was no use trying to sue. Had the physical therapist paid attention when I told him I had Ehlers Danlos, he hopefully wouldn't have pushed my connective tissue. So please, tell them and remind them again and again.
