Hello cathyni. I too have osteopenia as well. Do you take any bone medications like actonel or fosamax ? I take the Fosamax plus D formula. Do you take Citracal? Do you take a multivitamin for women? These medications have Vitamin D in them, which helps the body absorb calcium and helps reduce depression. Are you watching your sodium/salt intake? May help reduce the high blood pressure. Currently my dose of warfarin is 2.5mg. daily. You can exercise from a chair; try lifting a phone book or 1 gallon milk jug(s) half full of water (full gallon of water about weighs 8lbs), lift your feet from heel to toe. Losing weight as you know would help relieve the back discomfort. Gamma

hi theremy warfarin intake is a staggering 14 mg daily i do the leg excercises because of my dvt anyhow and i bought wrist weights to wear to see if they make any difference adcal is the only thing i take for osteopenia

Hey Cathyni, I take 5mg Coumadin/Warfarin daily and wear support hose all day. With support hose you should be able to do most activities, after my DVT/PE I started immediately back with biking, weight lifting and walking.
Support hose helps with pain and swelling, I am not comfortable walking or biking without support hose.

support hose really doesent help me at all
