Hello adamalsmom, I bumped up a previous discussion about teens with bone loss. Hopefully, you will be able to connect with another mother in the discussion that can give you some support.
Could your son also have Celiac Disese, the number one cause of osteoporosis in maies?
Don't know but he does have Ehlers Danlos which causes low bone density.
So sorry to hear of your son having OP at such a young age plus his other disease and wishing him all the best on his journey to better health. Its ok with us posters over 50 hey it is expected I guess due to hormones and a hundred other reasons but a young lad ... get as much help as you can ... research as much as you can and you both will get through this.. dig out support systems of people who have been there and they will be overjoyed to help you out.... Bless you two we will keep you in our thoughts for sure!
Loods is an OI patient (which is another genetically problematic disease similar to Ehlers Danlos). Perhaps she could give you some advice. I'm not much help because I'm just learning that OI and Ehlers Danlos exist. But I'm pulling for you and hope things don't get too overwhelming. If they do, come here and vent. It's a good place to be.
