Hi Heyde. I understand the concern for your sister. I was diagnosed with lupus in my early 20s too, and the osteoporosis diagnosis followed shortly after. Your sister's path with both will depend on many factors, and it's hard to say how the lupus and osteoporosis will develop in the future. It seems that everyone I know that has lupus has varying symptoms and problems. The best advice I can give you is that she really needs to take good care of herself...Rest, good diet, exercise properly, and follow the doctors' instructions closely. A good doctor is also very important. Also, knowledge is very powerful, and the more you and she learns about both diseases, the better she'll be able to take care of herself.

I KNOW IS VERY HARD FOR HER TO HAVE THIS SO YOUNG SHE HAS NOT BEEN TAKING GOOD CARE OF HERSELF DO YOU THINK THAT IF SHE STARTS KNOW SHE WILL BE OK ..

I think it's great that you're looking after your sister. It may be helpful if you go to a support group with her so she can get information on the different medications, possible effects of the lupus, and ways to take care of herself.

i know the bad thing is that she leives in ny and i live in florida the weather in florida is not good for her at all

I know you're worried about your sister, and I know she'll really appreciate your support. Knowledge is key to dealing with lupus, as well as a good doctor. Just be there for her, and help her learn as much as she can about both diseases.
