Monday 10/20 World Osteoporosis Day

0 Recommendations

On October 20, the NOF joins bone health organizations from around the globe to celebrate World Osteoporosis Day. This year's theme is "Stand Tall - Speak Out For Your Bones". There are easy ways for us to speak out for our bones. Become an advocate; by bringing NOF website to the attention of your doctors, dentists, physical therapists, fitness professionals, and any groups that you are involved with that may not be aware of osteoporosis. If you know a person with ostepenia/osteoporosis, please ask them to join the community and visit www.nof.org. NOF has an advocacy program in which volunteer advocates reach out to policymakers to highlight the importance of osteoporosis and bone health. Please check www.nof.org if interested. Please keep in mind young children and teen activities: ballet, gymnastics, all sports. One of the ways we may eliminate the youth from someday having the need to register on this community is to bring awareness of the importance of bone health. Please consider joining NOF as awareness is raised about better bone health on World Osteoporosis Day as well as every day!

Thanks Sandi for the wonderful information. Let's not forget that we can include our "badge" on all outgoing emails to spread the word about the NOF. I use mine all the time, and if you have any trouble applying the badge, which will link the reader directly to this site, just ask for help with your individual email programs.

If you look up badges in the search box, the team here (NOF) has *easy to follow* instructions on all the differing email programs i.e. yahoo, msn, hotmail, aol, windows mail, etc., etc.

I've been able to get a lot of people to visit the site using this-plus you can pick which badge design you like the best. I use the red and white "Join windblown at the NOF...", but there are other designs, colors, different wording and they all come in different sizes.

Have Fun...

Thank you for the great suggestion. If anyone else has any suggestions that will bring awareness to osteoporosis, please post.

Hi Sandi: I forgot, you can also invite others to the web site by going to your home page and clicking on the "inspire others" link, you just fill out the email and send it.

The email is preprinted with:

"Inspire is a safe place where we can connect for health and wellness support. Join me and we can inspire our friends and family.

Here's my page:

http://www.inspire.com/windblown"

This is just another way to invite clinicians, friends, etc to the NOF. Hopefully you'll get a lot of responses. I sent some of these out before we got the badges.
