Mattress Toppers

0 Recommendations

I have a bed that has encased coils and it's not comfortable. I can't buy a new mattress and was wondering what to buy.
I did buy a Isotonic® Comfort Three-Zone Foam Mattress Topper which smelled so bad and made the mattress smell and made me sick. It took a few days for the smell to come out of the mattress. It's made with 100% polyurethane foam. I returned it. What is another option?

Thanks,
Robyn

Arthritis Memory Fibromyalgia

Roybn,
We have a latex rubber mattress that was fine but a little firm for our old bones so we placed a memory foam topper on it and it perfect for us now. You can buy these at a number of stores, such as Wal-Mart and Target. You can give the smell test right in the store.
We have not had your problem with our topper.

Hi Robyn: Most memory foam has an odor, but *usually* goes away after some time. If you can't find a memory foam topper that is odorless, have you thought of a down topper. The other problem with foam, is that some are allergic to it because they *may* be treated with some type of chemicals. I love my Tempurpedic bed, but know how expensive they are! I personally have never used a down topper but know many that like them for softening a hard mattress. Just an idea...

Thank you for the responses. I think I am going to try the down topper. I tried 2 different foam toppers and I just couldn't stand the smell.

Thanks again!
Robyn

The latex bed that I bought online is intended for those with arthritis or fibromyalgia. It's the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

Thanks for the reply. I bought my bed and it was $$$$ so a new one isn't happening. I think I will try the down topper. Thanks again.
