This excellent article describes the only treatment I've heard of for BRONJ. You don't need a doctor, you can do it yourself. Ultra K Menatetrenone (MK4), available at Amazon, is the best buy for 15 mg MK4.

Windblown makes a great suggestion with regard to the Forteo. I had active ONJ going on with exposed bone all over my mouth. My oral surgeons from the University of Iowa Dental Department recommended the Forteo along with a long dose of antibiotics. After that course of antibiotics, as well as the Forteo, and after a period of time has elapsed for my jaw to heal, they are going to remove my deteriorated teeth on the top on November 15. I won't be able to be fitted with an upper denature until the tissue has completely healed they said to prevent the tissue and bone from breaking down. Hopefully this treatment plan would work for you.

As far as cost goes, my insurance pays for most of the cost. I have a $50 deductible every month. It is a small price to pay for a life.

Thank you verrry Much. I will be researching all you posted. There has to be a way to save me, has too!! I don't have bone showing unless it is on my upper left moler, the hole is to the skin for sure. I'll try and get a mirror in there tomorrow and have a look see. I was just dignosised with severe osteoporosis and recommended to have reclast. I have been researching what the side effects will do and my good friend, former employer, a well respected dentist has advised me against having the reclast infusion. The bone problems is just one of the reasons he is so against the infusion. Since I signed up with the support group, I have been reading about alternatives. I am certain that I want to try natural ways first, best of luck to you, Georgia

Ty Windblown, I am researching and so is my doctor. Gave him a copy of what all was posted here and he's going to research too. He doesn't want to see me dead or disfigured either one so I trust him and will work with him as long as he can backup his plans, ya kno? I used to trust my doctor's til the early 90's when I had endometriosis and was given Lupron injections for 9 mo.s and depo provera at 2 1/2 normal dosage for 1 1/2 yrs. Did anybody tell me that the Lupron alone guarunteed me 100% osteoporosis w/i 15 yrs?? No, noone, I found that out on my own soon after my hysterectomy. They used me as a guinea pig and now it has taken my life as I knew it away. I'm angry, hurt, you name it and I can feel it. But I won't give up. Someone, even a Medicine Man or Shaman, if they got something that works I'm getting myself fixed!!!! Ty again!! If you have or hear any more ideas please let me know. Much Love and Many Blessings! I understand your frustration. I was raised in the generation that you don't question what your doctor says and so when my doctor ordered Reclast for me I didn't ask any questions about it, I simply agreed. That was a fatal mistake on my part - one that I will pay for the rest of my life. I will never make that mistake again. My medical file used to fit in one small thin folder for a complete year. Now it takes a humongus box just to put the billings in it and another for my medical records and I don't have a complete set. But we cannot keep beating ourselves up for our part of that. I know we should be able to trust our doctors but the bottom line is they are human too. And the way our legal system is set up here in 9 times out of 10 you cannot find an attorney to stand up to the big mega drug companies to get any satisfaction.

Anyway I hope that you are able to find help with your situation. Hopefully the Forfeit will work for you. It has been s Godsend for me. Best wishes.

Hi- I feel so bad for your suffering. I had 4 abcesses in two months a few months ago and I could not find a dentist that would pull my tooth. I had to have a root canal which cost me $1700. I can't seem to find a dentist to pull a tooth whenyou have RECLAST. We really need a class action suit against this drug. I have been suffering ever since and I will never take an other drug for osteoporosis.

Hello everyone, I ordered strontium citrate and it should be here in about seven days. I added Vitamin K-2 to my list of vitamins and suppliments that I take, is there anything else that I should be doing? I am still exercising daily but a little more careful of how I bend.

I have been thanking God every day that I didn't do the reclast infusion, my heart goes out to those who trusted their doctors and had the infusion. Surely there must be hugh lawsuits against the company that manufactures that, if not there should be.

Hopefully there is something that can be done to reverse the damage that has been done by this drug. Are there any good reports about reclast? Why are doctors still recommending it?

I decided to look up class action lawsuits against reclast infusion - here is the information I found for those who had experienced the terrible side effects.

The web site is searching for those suffering from these side effects and ask those people to contact them immediately. Maybe there is something someone can do to get this drug off the market. Good luck to those who need this legal action.

Ty, I will pass this on to my doctor too!! I am having a Bone density scan today at 1:30, then we go from there!! Has the Forteo allowed you to get any dental work? Extractions? I need them all taken out *sigh* DANGED Reclast took my life as I knew it!!

I guess Schmidt Firm LLC has a Class Action Suit, the number was just shared with me, 866.920.0753. I may have already been turned down due to no diagnosis of BRONJ. I have talked to literally at least 50-60 lawyers and you have to have the Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (Degeneration, dead jaw). I'm praying I don't have that and want to avoid that at all costs. For 4 years its been abscess after abscess for me and I'm really dangling at the end of the thread of the rope I'm hanging on to. This drug literally disabled me, I finally got SSI and a medical card. My doctor is checking into this now, I just last week was able to get a dr. due to no insurance. Its been hell....All my teeth need pulled and noone will do it. As it stands right now, If I get them pulled, I most likely will lose my jaw or die from the infection and if I don't get these teeth out the abscesses will eventually kill me. I think they should have mega charges brought up against "Novartis" for murder and attempted murder. You would not believe how many people have died from this Poison (Reclast), its unreal and evil...if you find out anything from Schmidt, please let me know? I have had a couple of extractions and had a root canal, all with no repercussions, thanks to taking a course of antibiotics before hand and the Forteo as well. Once my osteonecrosis healed, I haven't had any more break throughs in my mouth. The dental surgeons think that is because of the Forteo and the antibiotic therapies that we have done. I sure hope that this will be helpful for you.

When they put me on the antibiotics along with the Forteo, it only took a week or two and the skin started healing over the break throughs in my jaw. It was amazing. They were so painful and I didn't think there would be anything that could possibly fix this situation for me either. Mine started out with an abscessed tooth. I went to a local dentist and I told him that I had taken a dose of Reclast. He said that it would be "no problem" pulling the tooth, along with another one that had about the same issues. A few days later I was pulling pieces of bone out of the holes in my mouth where the teeth were at. One piece I couldn't get out and so I had to go back into the dentist. I asked him about this and he said that it was "knuckle bone" and it was "perfectly normal" to have this happen. Then I had what appeared like baby teeth growing all over my mouth, including one back at the joint where your jaw is on the left side, only it was towards my tongue and was extremely painful. I had had about enough of my local dentist so I went to the University of Iowa Dental Department and when they saw me they diagnosed me as having osteonecrosis of the jaw. What I had thought were "baby teeth" were actually pieces of my jaw bone that were exposed. That's when they started me on the Forteo and the antibiotics. It was a pretty scary time for me so I do understand where you are coming from. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

CubbieFan2308, what antibiotics if you don't mind me asking? I'm keeping a folder with links that I've found and info for my doctor so that would be a great help too. I need every tooth pulled, they are all bad, thanks to the poison they pumped into my body, Grrrr, how am I going to be able to do that, 1 at a time? I'll do what ever I have to to save my life, because these infections are killing me slowly and painfully...*sigh* Ty again.....
