Hi,
I hope that someone out there can give me some advice as I really don’t know what to do. I was excreting calcium in my urine so my endocrinologist reduced my calcium. However, even though I am taking less calcium, when I repeated the 24-hr. urine test, there was even more calcium coming out than before! She doesn’t know what to make of this and wants me to go on HCTZ.
During the last few months I improved my diet a lot and also started taking a generic calcium caltrate in order to save money. Maybe I am taking in too much calcium or the type of calcium I am taking is not being absorbed? Or could there be some other reason for what is going on?
Would also appreciate hearing from anyone who has taken HCTZ regarding their experience.
Thanks for your help,
Uma
