hello, i had reclast in march. no side effects that i know of but my body is blackballing me so??? in the research i did there seemed to be few side effects.

Thank you for your reply, I need all the information on this drug and side effects I can get. Took l monthly dose of actonel and had lots of side effects so very nervous about a l yr. Because of the gastric surgery can not take normal drugs like actonel, boniva, etc.

I would read all the posts on Reclast if I were you before taking it. Some people have immense problems with it, even without bypass surgery.

Thanks, I also had cushings disease and a brain tumor removed because of it, which because of too much cortisol produced by tumor my body now does not retain vit d or calcium, taking 50,ooo of Vit d and 3,000 of calcium for last 4 years and still got osteo.

Hi Kit8114,
Take a look at some of the success stories of people who have gained bone mass by increasing their vitamin D3 (after having their Dr test their blood and prescribing). Mine put me on 50,000 IU a week for 8 weeks and has me on 5,000 a day now. I'm on a lot of supplements, changed to an alkaline diet for absorption of minerals, and am doing weight bearing excercise, and lowering my stress. I feel sooooo much better and have beat Irritable bowel syndrome, fiber myagia pain, and cleared my lungs and sinuses from congestion/asthma symptoms from these changes. This has been done in a couple of months. My D level has improved from 21 to 37 and am on my way up to trying to get to 50. I am greatly encouraged because of the success in these other condtions (I have been in strong pain and in chronic lung infection for over 20 years and suddenly I'm doing extremely well, so there's something to the changes I've made). So, before you go on drugs for osteoporosis consider trying the natural things first (considering many of the less than positive stories I've heard from people who've done drugs). And do get a good Dr who's experienced in natural health in helping guide you in osteo care (not just a drug pusher and doesn't know anything more). There's good Docs out there, I just had to make a lot of calls to find them. In another thread there's a lady who's had a 6% bone mass gain and I just asked her exactly what's she's doing. You might want to check out what she and others like her have to say on this site.

Thank you will definitly ckeck this all out. Natural health and good Dr's - I have to use HMO provider so may not be sucessful on finding a Doc. I do not think with all the bad side effects from Reclast that I will take it - at least for now.
