Fosteum

Since there has been discussion on Fosteum, I thought a new thread may be helpful for anyone interested in this treatment. I've only read the basics on Fosteum, but Fosteum seems to be soy based. It may be beneficial requesting a complete thyroid test; including antibodies as well as TSH, T3 & T4 checking thyroid before agreeing to take this treatment. The thyroid and parathyroid glands are separate glands; each producing hormones with specific functions, but with an effect on calcium ..... so please keep in mind, that although soy is often listed for health, soy is not the best choice for everyone.

Hi..i took fosteum for 8 days..and it upset my stomach. i had waves of nausea and then the last day i really didnt feel well. However, i start the day with a thyroid hormone replacement pill..then nexium, then librax because i have IBS and then after spacing all these pills, took the fosteum. calcium with lunch and dinner.one of the ladies on this network took fosteum with no side effects and had a very good result and i had the hope that it could happen for me. maybe i should have contineued on with the fosteum and to see if i could adjust, but when i dont feel well, i just cant do it.. i have been taking thyroid pills for 30 yrs.. i just dont know, trying to gey through another day the best i can

i forgot to ask what does soy have to do with thyroid?

Hello Lulubell, For some people, soy may be a thyroid depressing substance which basically means the normal thyroid function could be disrupted. The thyroid gland is primarily responsible for the regulation of hormones in our bodies. One hormone that is secreted by the thyroid stimulates calcium from our bloodstream to our bones. Good thyroid health is important and should also be considered when we learn about other osteoporosis options.
