Forteo injection comes back out?

0 Recommendations

I've been injecting Forteo for three months now, and at least once per pen the medicine appears to be injected properly, and then when I remove the pen and needle, the medicine beads back up and onto the surface of my skin. I'm injecting into my leg. Is this a common occurrence? And why?

This used to be a problem with the old pen. Haven't experienced it with the new one. Are you using a blue pen with a barrel that is fat in the middle?

When injecting, push the plunger very slowly, count 1, 1000, 2, 1000,3, 1000 etc up to 6 or 7 during plunging. then hold the needle in for a bit before withdrawing it.

Also try injecting in the least muscular part of the body.

Thank you. I was afraid that was the reason - although I certainly wouldn't have thought my legs were THAT muscular. ;-)

Yes, I have the new pen, and yes, I count slowly up to at least ten, and then leave the needle in for another count of five. Looks like I'm back to tummy injections then. Rats!

Thanks for the help.

Oh yes - so do I inject myself a second time, or just wait until the following day?
