Every Day, in Every Way...

Émile Coué de Châtaigneraie (February 26, 1857 – July 2, 1926) was a French psychologist and pharmacist who introduced a method of psychotherapy and self-improvement based on optimistic autosuggestion.

He coined the phrase "Every day, in every way, I'm getting better and better." He taught it to his students to help them better their health and quality of life.

Modern research supports Émile Coué's belief that positive thought has a beneficial effect on health. In fact, a recent study showed a 26% reduction in mortality for people with a more optimistic attitude toward life.

So ask your self the question, Is this how I live my life or not? Try and take this phrase and not so ancient wisdom into consideration as you go about your day. This is what I teach my clients and it works very well indeed.

Well said, Woody, and I fully agree.

I had been living a healthy, active lifestyle, doing all the "right" things, and thought I was immune to osteoporosis, so my diagnosis came as quite a shock. I spent a few months wallowing in fear, depression, and apprehension (will I break if I move this way??).

I asked myself that same question: Is this how I want to live my life? I decided the answer is NO! Now I'm back to my regular exercise program, but more mindful of the way that I move, and feeling 100% better.
