Due to my history of degenerating early, when my daughter was working at Safeway last year, she fell while pushing carts through the parking lot because her "hip gave out." Safeway sent her to the E.R. where they did an x-ray, and was sent to follow-up with per primary. Everything checked out OK, but over the next year she continued to have bouts of excruciating pain in her hip joint. Just before she joined the ARMY, I took her to be evaluated by a P.T./Chiropractor (mostly for my peace of mind) but he was very concerned about the popping and clicking noises he heard on eval. He suggested we get a follow-up x-ray (one year post original fall) to see if there had been any degenerative changes during the year so we could send her off to boot camp with a clean bill of health. Her doctors REFUSED to order the x-ray stating the original was fine. Needless to say, I am furious with our people. She leaves for boot camp next month. I will continue to pray...ALOT!

Can you give us a follow-up on this? How is she?

So far, during the induction period she was heartbreakingly homesick, but kept reassuring us that she truly loved what she was doing and did not regret her decisions. She was allowed a courtesy phone call home last week to ease potential panic when/if a news report got out regarding a death of swine flu near/on her location. Before she hung up, she breathlessly added "I love it here and tomorrow we get to climb buildings!!!!"
What I had neglected to mention in her "hip profile" was that she also complained a great deal about her wrists "hurting" her, for which her doc gave her wrist braces. This, she shared with her boyfriend, was what was giving her the most trouble. We'll keep ya posted as soon as we hear! P.S. Thanx for asking!

Sounds exciting.
