I was searching to differeniate in the best calcium and magnesium kinds and companies, when I came across artificial sweeteners effect! and who knew this danger? go GOOGLE THIS.

The Bitter Truth About NutraSweet (Aspartame) and Sucralose (Splenda)
Sold commercially under names like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, Equal-Measure and Canderel, aspartame can be found in more than 6,000
products. "Aspartame (NutraSweet) appears to cause slow, silent damage in those unfortunate enough to not have immediate reactions and a reason to avoid it. It may take one year, five years, 10 years, or 40 years, but it seems to cause some reversible and some irreversible changes in health over long-term use. "Aspartame has a profound effect on mood and cognition....depressed mood, anxiety, dizziness, panic attacks, nausea, irritability, impairment of memory and concentration."

Bettyrenshaw, I did not know this. I was aware of people having acute reactions but hadn't thought much about the long term, "silent" effects other than does it cause cancer. It's in some of the foods I eat. We'd all be a lot healthier if we got back to basics. There's no aspartame in an apple, for example. But you'll find it in the new European osteoporosis drug, Strontium Ranelate. Food for thought (no pun intended).

Thanks for the warning/reminder. Take care, Susan

GOOD TO KNOW 'BOUT STRONTIIUM RANELATE TOO!!!

WE ARE ALL SHOPPING FOR THAT THESE DAYS..

THE AMINO ACID PHENOLIaNOLINE is in eggs AND harmful to diabetics, in fact the aspertame is made from phenolanoline some people have eggs every morning. suppose they have these symptom?

for sure diabtic uses the sweetners -- all thinking splenda is safe replacement?

NO! I would say "NO" to splenda. They (Splenda) say it's made from sugar, but by the time they get done chemically manipulating it, it's not really sugar. There's a point where they chlorinate it, and I'm not convinced they can get the chlorine out.

I just bought some agave nectar. Supposedly it's low on the glycemic index. I haven't tasted it yet, so maybe it's yucky. Although I just did a quick Google search, and found that maybe it's not all it's cracked up to be, either.

I sometimes use sugar--but not very much. In recipes it cut it by 1/3 to 1/2. I was banned for a while from making the family pumpkin pie because one year I cut the sugar in half. I thought it was fine. My sister didn't.

I have found that if you use less sugar (or salt), you get used to it and don't want or like the amounts that you used to use.

CERTAINLY, I AGREE. YOU JUST DO IT AND LIKE IT--LIKE SALTING--SUGAR IS OVER RATED- AND LIKE THE EXAMPLE WE SET==THINK OF THE KIDS---WE GET THEM CALLING UNNECESSARILY FOR SUGAR==EARLY=== SO MUCH IS UP TO OUR AWARENESS.

THIS SEARCH WAS NOT FOR MYSELF. MY NEIGHBOR HAS FOR MONTHS BEEN TORMENTED WITH THESE EXACT SYMPTOMS. OFTEN,
HER DAUGHTERS TAKE HER HOME FOR A WEEK==TO THEIR SPECIAL DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS WITH TESTS ON TOP OF TESTS.

SITTING HERE AT THE PC, 4 A.M. TODAY, WHEN I SAW THAT THE AA RESPONSIBLE IS IN EGGS [SHE HAS EGG EVERY MORNING; IS LOW SIDE DIABETIC]
I COULD HARDLY WAIT TO MORNING TO CALL HER:: YES, SHE DOES SWEETENERS .

THE PROGNOSIS -TERM TO REVERSE -? THAT IS NEXT QUESTION? BEFORE THIS, I HAVE COME UP WITH A WILD CHASE IN HER BEHALF== AND I HAVE BEEN SAYING, THIS HAS TO BE A DAILY THING--ALLERGIES OR THE LIKE==SO SIMPLE--

Yah to susan for saying No to sugar... I am also doing that and believe me your body adjusts ti it... I ahve not had any sugar or sweeterner in my tea for months now ..... someitmes i crrave it and take a bit but it kinda makes me felel stomach sick.... Be patient you will be able to do it TOO soon!!!!

Is your neighbor able to use honey as a sweetner? My mother-in-law is diabetic and she substitutes honey.

SURE, SHE CAN. I HOPE HER ATTENTIVE DAUGHTERS COME UP WITH THAT AND MORE! 'I FEEL LIKE CHECKING RIGHT OUT MY BACK DOOR OVER TO HER AND HAVE THIS 'ALTERNATE' DISCUSSION WITH HER.

SHE IS SO DEPENDENT ON WHAT I SAY IN HER BEHALF--
THAT SHE ALMOST WAITS FOR ME TO SUGGEST--LIKE HONEY.

YES, HONEY IS FAST ACTING INTO AND OUT OF THE BLOOD===WOULD WORK . IT IS A NATURAL NUTRIENT==SUBSTANCE......THE BODY KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH NATURAL... ARTIFICIAL--IT DOESN'T!

THELMA IS TRULY BORDERING ON INSULIN SHOTS.....

SHE IS REGRESSING- SHE WAS RECENTLY [FINALLY SOMETHING TO BLAME] DIAGNOSED WITH CELIAC TOO. LOSING WEIGHT AND MEMORY DRAGS...

ACTUALLY SHE IS NOT IN PAIN--AS I AM---WALKS STRAIGHT AS A STRING AND A YR OR TWO OLDER THAN I......puts on her make up first thing--house is orderly and keeps itsself....i dont get it. I stay a mess==shower to shower and always got plenty to do and cant take a step without moaning......and to boot--have been very conscienseous always about health.....

but millie===life takes tole. those with enough help--easy compatible living--have better older age..than those of us who took on every burden [that we thought] ==another donkey needed help with.

I WONDER--IF I HAD MY LIFE TO DO OVER==IF I WOULD BE DIFFERENT..

'Thelma' Had four children, lost a nine yr old to leukemia; she had a grand mate--who did all things. She is still pretty and primpy. i envy her in lots of ways these days; but too suddenly, she is not well!

AT THIS TIME, SHE IS NEEDING ATTENTION AS IN BLOOD WORK UP. SHE DOESN'T KNOW TO ASK.
