I initially visited my family doctor due to spotting between periods and lower back pain that last the entire month before and after my periods. This doctor immediately made an appointment with an oncologist after finding high levels of pre-cancerous cells. The oncologist examined me and quickly scheduled me for a conization and at the time of the procedure also removed tissue from the upper area of the cervix and the uterus as well. 3 weeks later during the doctor's visit he advised no cancer found, but very very severe dyplasia. My concern is the doctor advised that I was not out the woods yet and started to schedule me for paps in 3 months intervals. Is this a cause for concern? I spoke with a relative and she suggested that since I already have 3 children and have a tubal ligation to just get a hysterectomy so I won't have to worry about it anymore. Also the lower back pain is still present which I was told might be caused by the dyplasia. Advice much needed!!!!
