Waiting on more tests.....

Hi,
A little history about me... I have been dealing with this cervical issue since June 2006. After having the freezing and it not working in Feb 2008 I had the Leep and it came back with clean margins. In May I flunked my pap and again in August I flunked another one. My Biopsy was last week and the results will be back on 11/24/08... Only I know something isn't right - the paps hurt so bad due to inflimation and infection so we had to clear that up before the biopsy last week (this is just the colposcopy with punch biopsy and EEC). It's known that I have a 'high risk' strand of HPV but it's unknown as to what strand I have.
I've had constant pelvic pain for months... not terribly bad or unbarable but it's there and I know something isn't right.
I'm a single mom and scared. I am curious if the pelvic pain is something anyone else has and do you know what strand of HPV you have. Should I see another doctor who will take more aggresive action?
The worse part is the waiting... I'm always waiting on an appointment, a test, a result.... and she told me I have to be clean for 7 years with 3 month visits and I can't seem to get this virus to go dormant... any advise?

I was diagnosed with high-risk HPV in Sept. 2007. I was retested 3 weeks ago and it came back negative.
I also had a lot of pelvic pain at just random times throughout the month. I had some irregular bleeding too. Painful intercourse. And paps were a nightmare. I would cramp all day after having one.
The last pap I had 3 weeks ago, I really didn't feel it all! It was amazing! I have never not had pain during one. So not sure if that has something to do with the HPV being gone?

Anyway, I made a few changes with my diet, went vegetarian and now am eating a completely vegan diet. Started taking vitamins too. No caffeine. I eat a lot of organic foods.
I would do some research and do anything that you can to boost your immune system. Eat lots of fruits and veggies, take vitamin C and zinc!

how are you doing bethieboo? hopefully you have some results back from your tests? they may do an ultrasound for pelvic pain. and, in answer to your question about hpv typing, most of us don't know which strain of hpv we have - but many of us wish we did! the standard hpv test used here in the u.s. (the digene hpv test) only indicate whether the active hpv infection is from a high risk or low risk strain but doesn't specify further than that. if you're currently having an active hpv infection, there are some labs to which you can send your smear to be typed. you might want to try searching this message board for some specifics on that; i think there's a lab in washington (state) that will do this. (note: it's no fda approved, and the lab can provide you with more info as to their accuracy.) let us know how you're doing!
