Trying not to be scared!

0 Recommendations

Well I've been 1 year and 3 months out of treatment for stage 1b cc. I had a total hysterectomy and then 7 weeks of external radiation. I went in for my 3 month check up last week. Had a pap, ct scans and xrays. Scan and xrays came back clear. Pap came back with abnormal cell changes. THIS SUCKS! I go see my oncologist next week. I'm really trying not to be scared...and no I don't know the exact test results (waiting for the papers in the mail). The nurse told me it came back with abnormal cell growth. I HATE THIS! Anyone else have this happen? I will be calling tomorrow to get exacts. I should have asked for exacts today, but was too emotional.

Thanks so much for your support.

Hysterectomy Stress

hi tavy,
DO NOT worry. my onc said its very normal to have abnormal pap after all that you went through. i had the same stuff going. 2004 hysterectomy, radiation chemo 1b1 stage, and on my 3 month pap it was also abnormal. it was clear on the next one at 6 months. can't say for sure about you, but please be aware that it is common for your body to be showing abnormal cell changes since your body is trying to recover from the whole ordeal you've been through

Thanks so much...this helps more than you know. I have been on edge all day. The only thing that worries me is that I've had 5 normal paps. It's been 1 1/2 years since treatment. I'm not going to stress. I'll just wait and see what the docs say I guess.

Thank you so much for sharing with me. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
