To Birth Control or to Not Birth Control?

0 Recommendations

I'm new here, but have been reading the posts diligently, and I'm so grateful for all of you who have offered such hope and encouragement!

I've been following the post recently on birth control and how it can make you more vulnerable when you have HPV. (From http://doublecheckmd.com/EffectsDetail.do?dname=Yaz&sid=81134&eid=7320: "Some studies have suggested that women taking oral contraceptives are at increased risk of dysplasia, epidermoid carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma of the cervix.") I want to get off birth control now that I know I have LGSIL, especially since I'm only using it to control my PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). However, I'm concerned about the PCOS getting out of control once I'm off, and wondering if this will be more harmful than having the birth control. I know what my dr. would say since she's totally pro-BC and thinks that the pills can do absolutely no wrong. Do any of you have any thoughts or experiences?

I want to control this naturally and will start taking Papillex soon, and possibly DIM though I'm not sure those can be taken together. I'm checking my pH, in addition to eating vegetarian with as many veggies and antioxidants as possible.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

HPV Diabetes

I have recently gone off the pill, since hearing about this connection. I realized that since I was not having sex and was only using it to treat my PCOS it was pointless. Before I went off my doctor ran tests to check on my PCOS.. lucky me, I now have diabetes. LOL!

I think that the pill basically contributes to increased chance of dysplasia and other abnormalities due to being on it for a long period of time (10-15 years) or if you do not use other protection since you're "on the pill"..

I have also just quit taking bc bills, BUUUT...I wanna know, other forms of birth control, which ones ARE safe with dysplasia/HPV?? [[Besides condoms...i have an issue w/ condoms. Not an allergy, but a strange sensitivity or irritation. a dragging sensation. NO amount of lubrication helps, trust me I tried.]] .big.mess.

Thanks for the replies!

As for not using condoms, here is a book that is referred to me over and over again: http://www.amazon.com/Taking-Charge-Your-Fertility-Achievement/dp/006095053 6

I'd been on BC pills for close to 10 years and then got off only to discover the PCOS and then the LGSIL. I'm ready to give my body a break from the pills and hoping to treat the PCOS naturally.
