SO MANY QUESTIONS!!

0 Recommendations

I am going in for my LEEP procedure on July 1st, after recently being diagnosed with CIN III. My question is, how reliable are the colpooscopies? Is it possible that they could have missed something?? They only took one biopsy (5:00). Will the pathology reports from the LEEP procedure be more telling? I'm only asking because I have a lot of symptoms that would lead me to believe that something more is going on inside of my body. Has anyone had sore lymph nodes (groin, collar bone, armpits, chin/jawline)? What questions do I need to ask my doctor when I go in? I think he's going to do a sonogram to look at my ovaries and bladder, is there any other test I need to ask for? PLEASE HELP!!

Well I had mine done and I really wish I could be more help but the rush these things and really don't take time to explain stuff. I was really hurting in my groin I thought I had pulled something but I didn't know they was connected until you said it. So I don't know if they are related. Really all I can tell you is what they are going to do. I just had mine done on the 11th, they numb you and the stick from the needle is all that you are going to feel. I mean the needle stung really bad to me but after that you won't feel anything. Then afterward you will cramp but it shouldn't be that bad and then all kinds of discharge. Really you are going to feel pretty gross with the discharge. You will get some that looks like crumbled oreos in it. Make a list of concerns from now until when you go in and make the doc answer them before you get it done. Sorry wish I could be more help.

From what I understand the colposcopies are pretty reliable as long as there are biopsies to go with it. My dr took 3 biopsies in 3 separate places, came back CIN III. Had the laser surgery in December. Try to make a list of any and all concerns when you go in and before you even begin the procedure tell your dr you have some concerns/questions you would like to go over. I think after you discuss some of these things with your dr you will feel much more at ease and your procedure will be a little easier to handle. I was under anesthesia for mine, but I can imagine the anxiety.

Soreness in your lymph nodes could be a sign of something much more serious, so be sure to discuss this with your dr. Best of luck and let us know how it goes!

Hi Ladies,

I've also wondered the same about colposcopies. How reliable are they? Should the doctor do a biospy even if he/she doesn't see anything?

As far as the swollen lymph nodes go, they can also swell and be tender due to stress. I know because I ended up getting an unnecessary cat scan due to some swollen lymph nodes that felt huge to me but were actually pretty small. In the end they just diagnosed me with stress!
