i am 20 and just found out i have hvp my doc said she was not worried that she not even going to any other test going to give me a year to see if my body can fight it off i do not know how long i have it even if my doc not worried should i worry

yes i had one done march 16 they have come back like that before but it never showed hpv till this time
did they tell you the the type of abnormality with your pap?,say you had atypical cells then your drs would give you a wait and see period.that also applies to cin1 also, i know its all very confusing and upsetting but you we are here for you if you have any other concerns:)
ya it is and thank u no all my doc said was she not worried and she not gooing to do any other test till i go back for my pap next march she said she sure that my body will fight it off i dont know wat that means or even wat type i have
I do not think you should wait a full year. I think maybe you should be checked again in 6 months, especially if you are real stressed over it. If you stay that stressed it will no help your body to fight off the HPV infection. If your dr. knows you have the active infection he/she should also know if it high risk or low risk, I'd be asking. Maybe you could ask for a copy of your pap result and get a second opinion on how long you should wait before getting rechecked. Shawna

You should not wait a year you should go back in another 6 months. If anything is abnormal it needs to be watched closely so go back in 6 months! What was the reading on your pap (ascus, lsil, hsil?) In the meantime try to keep your immune system up and running, exercise and eat right, no smoking and try not to stress.
So your body may fight it off , I would Fine out What type You have & Start there! I would not take Any chances!!!
Are you happy with your Dr? do you feel you can ask as many ?? you need does she take her time with you because if not maybe you should get a 2 opinion ??
it can't hurt! I just had A (LEEP ) done I have CIN III
my Dr does not take her time & talk so Iwas going for a 2 opinion & they say I need to fallow up with an oncologist so be smart ask lots of ?? I did not at first & now I have to!!!
