SEX during chemo...?!?!

0 Recommendations

Ive had just one round of treatment so far. I believe I have 5 more.. I am being given cysplatin and etopiside... I go for 3 days every 21 days.. My question is, do any of you know if u can have sex during chemotherapy? My doc has never really mentioned anything other than waiting 6 weeks after my hysterectomy. So..... My husband is more curious than me, but I figured I had better find out. :) Thanks

Chemotherapy Hysterectomy

When I had my chemo rounds, my doctor informed me that it was okay to have sex, though I really never bothered as my husband was out of the country and working overseas....

Thanks Scorpio... I just wasnt sure if I was like radioactive... even tho I dont get radiation... but yeah... Im overly curious!

You can have sex when you are going through chemo. I felt pretty good after the first round but by the end of the second and continuing through the end of treatments, I can't imagine wanting to have sex. I was busy trying to recover between treatments. I can honestly say, I'm glad I didn't have anyone in my life asking me to have sex with them during that time. You are not "radioactive" even when you have radiation treatments unless you have the radioactive seeds implanted. If sex or any other activity makes you feel good...I say go for it. Don't let this disease take everything from you. If you don't feel like it, I'm sure your husband will understand and will accept just a little cudling. Blessings to you and your family.

My doctor said it was fine to do it during chemo. If you are up to it, you might as well have some fun. More power to you!

You go girl!!
